Privacy Policy
Effective June 4, 2026
Anti-Corruption Action respects the privacy of everyone who visits our website, contacts us, or supports our work. This policy explains what we collect, why, and what we will never do with it.
The Short Version
We collect very little. We collect the email addresses of people who choose to join our newsletter, and the contact and payment information that donors provide when they give. We never sell, rent, trade, or otherwise distribute that information to anyone.
What We Collect
Newsletter subscribers
If you check the box to join our mailing list, we collect the email address you provide and, if you supply it, your name. We use it only to send you our newsletter and organizational announcements.
People who contact us
If you use our contact form, we receive the name you provide, your message, and any email address or phone number you choose to give us. Email and phone are optional. We use this only to respond to you and to keep a record of the correspondence.
Donors
When you donate, our payment processor collects the contact and payment information needed to complete the transaction and to issue your acknowledgment letter. We receive your name, contact information, and the amount and date of your gift. We do not receive or store your full payment card number.
Website analytics
We use Plausible Analytics, which is privacy-focused, does not use cookies, and does not collect or store personal data or track visitors across websites. It tells us how many people visited a page. It does not tell us who they were.
What We Never Do
- We never sell your information.
- We never rent, trade, or lease your information.
- We never share your information with other organizations for their own marketing, fundraising, or list-building.
- We never publish the names of our donors without their express permission.
When We May Share Information
We share personal information only in these narrow circumstances.
- With service providers who operate our systems on our behalf, such as our email delivery provider and our donation processor. They may use the information only to perform that service for us.
- When required by law, such as in response to a valid subpoena or court order, or where disclosure is required by tax or charitable reporting rules.
- To protect the safety of our staff, researchers, sources, or the public.
How Long We Keep It
We keep newsletter subscriptions until you unsubscribe. We keep donor records for as long as required by tax and charitable reporting law. We keep contact form correspondence only as long as it is useful for responding to you and maintaining a record.
Your Choices
You can unsubscribe from our newsletter at any time using the link in any email we send. You can ask us what personal information we hold about you, ask us to correct it, or ask us to delete it, and we will honor that request unless we are legally required to retain the record. Write to us at info@anticorruptionaction.org.
Security
We take reasonable measures to protect the information we hold. No system is perfectly secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security, but we limit what we collect precisely so that there is little to lose.
Children
Our website is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from them.
Changes
If we change this policy we will post the revised version here with a new effective date.
